Community, not industry!

ORKZ Bar - is part of the ORKZ, a beautiful legalised squat in the south of Groningen, Netherlands. Located in the old kitchens of the former Roman-Catholic hospital. It is a non-profit fully volunteer-run space. As well as a diverse range of housing spaces, the ORKZ rents out artists’ studios, workshops and practice rooms. There is also a cinema, a Dagcafé, a bar/restaurant and a theatre.

ORKZ Dagcafe - is a kitchen and cosy cafe, where you can drink coffee or tea and read the zine, here we get together over dinner and drinks. There is also a pool table and a free shop, and also a tiny shop with biological products. There is a changing exhibition on the walls.

House rules

We do our best to create an atmosphere and space where people feel welcome and safe and can be whoever they want to be. We do not tolerate any form of oppression like racism, sexism, fascism, homophobia, genderphobia etc. If nevertheless you feel unsafe or see situations around you that make you feel uncomfortable/unsafe please let us know at the bar, door or let people know that are connected to DIY FEST or the venue.

Drinks - Bringing your own drinks is not allowed and not appreciated. ORKZ bar is a non-profit venue run by volunteers and does its best to keep it accessible while keeping it sustainable for the place to survive. Drinks at the ORKZ bar are cheap, beer is 2 euro.

Entrance - Entrance for shows 16+, alcohol drinks +18.
Dogs and other animals are not allowed.

Limited amount of day passes will be available at the door on Friday and Saturday, for cash. We recommend buying tickets in advance.

We do not provide accommodation for visitors of the festival, but can recommend you this:

• Camping Stadspark - camping, easily accessible by foot, bicycle, car.

If you are local and own a personal OV chipcard, then you can rent an OV fiets.

At ORKZ Bar you can pay by cash and card.

Door entrance is only for cash, limited amount of door tickets per day.

For buying merch, food etc - prepare cash.
